What you’ll impact
The AI/ML Technical Lead will guide the technical vision, architecture, and implementation of enterprise-scale AI systems for a federal public health mission. This senior role involves designing advanced machine learning and generative AI capabilities, establishing governance standards, and providing technical leadership to engineering teams.
Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Lead the design and development of scalable AI/ML systems using Python, PySpark and Palantir Foundry for public health mission use cases.
- Architect generative AI solutions including AI agents, MCP-enabled workflows and RAG pipelines.
- Define and maintain AI evaluation frameworks covering performance benchmarking, retrieval optimization, safety validation and production monitoring.
- Design and implement agent architectures with memory, state management, orchestration and complex data interaction.
- Integrate enterprise AI tooling such as Codex, Claude and OpenEvidence into production AI workflows.
- Establish governance, privacy, documentation and ethical AI standards across AI initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering staff, and present architecture decisions to technical and mission stakeholders.
Requirements
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years designing, developing and deploying AI/ML solutions using Python.
- 5+ years with generative AI, LLMs, AI agents or RAG systems in enterprise environments.
- 3+ years with AI agents, MCP frameworks or AI evaluation strategy development.
- Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch for production model development.
- Data engineering experience using PySpark, SQL and Palantir Foundry including Foundry AIP, and experience managing a technical team.
- Experience with MLOps platforms such as MLflow and cloud environments such as Azure or Databricks.
- Experience integrating enterprise AI tooling such as Codex, Claude, Prompt Buddy or OpenEvidence.
- Knowledge of public health, healthcare or government data systems and associated governance practices.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. federal Public Trust / Suitability determination based on client requirements.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
