What you’ll impact
The Senior Cybersecurity Consultant will design and implement security monitoring, detections, and alerts for a cloud-based healthcare technology environment, focusing on AWS and SIEM solutions. The role involves reviewing logs, strengthening AWS configurations, performing vulnerability assessments, supporting incident response, and ensuring compliance with SOC 2 and HIPAA while working directly with engineering and leadership teams.
Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Design and implement security monitoring, detections, and alerts
- Review security logs and investigate suspicious activity
- Evaluate and implement/optimize SIEM capabilities
- Review and strengthen AWS security configurations
- Configure and tune AWS WAF rules
- Perform vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation
- Review web application and API security
- Support incident investigation and response
- Improve endpoint/device security, patching, and access controls
- Support SOC 2 and HIPAA security requirements
- Work directly with engineering and technical leadership
Requirements
What you’ll bring
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
- Must reside in the U.S.
- Remote 1099 contract
- Up to $65/hour, depending on experience
- Must be comfortable working directly with client engineering and leadership teams
