Summary
What you’ll impact
Chia Network is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Infrastructure & Platform team to build and operate cloud and on‑premise foundations, including Kubernetes, CI/CD, and observability systems. The role emphasizes automation, reliability, and collaboration across security and development teams.
Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Operate and maintain Kubernetes clusters (EKS in AWS, k0s for on prem).
- Apply an automation-first mindset using tools such as Terraform, Helm, and Ansible, executed via GitHub Actions.
- Participate in our on-call rotation and help improve reliability. Identify root causes and prevent issues from recurring.
- Operate global colocation environments, including networking, storage, compute, and Proxmox virtualization.
- Partner with teams on CI/CD integrations.
- Maintain a repository of shared GitHub Actions.
- Operate self-hosted runners.
- Build and maintain tooling (primarily written in Go) that streamlines workflows and improves reliability.
- Operate and fine tune our observability and alerting stack (Prometheus, Alertmanager, Grafana, Loki), including maintaining alerting rules, alert routing, and dashboards.
- Collaborate across teams to design scalable, secure, and observable systems.
- Collaborate with the security team to support audit readiness, security scanning, and infrastructure hardening.
Requirements
What you’ll bring
- Strong experience running Kubernetes (not just using it as a developer).
- Hands-on with infrastructure as code (Terraform experience preferred).
- Cloud experience (AWS preferred).
- Experience with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions preferred; GitLab CI or similar also fine).
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, with a pragmatic approach to reliability and alerts.
- A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn new systems.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, specifically Proxmox, is highly valued for our colocation environments.
- Experience with observability and alerting stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Loki).
