The Senior Security Engineer at the organization will provide technical leadership to protect sensitive information for a federal client expanding its AI use. The role involves overseeing security engineering activities, conducting audits and vulnerability testing, and guiding developers to build secure, privacy‑focused systems.
Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Provide leadership on major tasks and technical assignments, working on high-visibility or mission-critical aspects of the product
- Establish goals and plans that meet product objectives
- Plan, manage, and provide technical oversight for security engineering activities
- Perform security audits, risk analysis, application-level vulnerability testing, and security code reviews
- Develop and implement technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities
- Conduct research to identify new attack vectors
- Support developers in creating secure systems while enhancing the privacy of all system users
- Apply key security and privacy requirements to select the appropriate technology and design secure business solutions
Requirements
What you’ll bring
- US Citizenship with the ability to pass a Public Trust clearance process with a US Government client
- CISSP certification is required
- Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience. In place of that, either a master's degree or higher and 8 years of experience, or 14 years of experience with no degree
- Extensive knowledge and experience in IT security design, operations, encryption, information access, and authentication processes
- Experience serving as the security engineer on complex technology implementations in a product-centric environment
- Experience bridging the gap between legacy development or operations teams and working toward a shared culture and vision
- Domain and expert technical knowledge, with a track record of leading major technical assignments
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
