The Senior Python Developer / Technical Specialist will design, build, and support enterprise data pipelines, Power BI dashboards, system integrations, and data-migration solutions for accel bi corporation in Raleigh, NC. The role involves developing Python-based ETL processes, optimizing SQL, and collaborating with business and technical teams on modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

What you'll do

  • Develop Python-based ETL pipelines, migration scripts, and automation workflows
  • Build and optimize data models, SQL queries, and database processes
  • Create interactive Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Integrate data from databases, APIs, cloud applications, on-premises systems, and flat files
  • Validate and reconcile datasets while maintaining data quality and integrity
  • Document data mappings, migration procedures, and technical workflows
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams on modernization initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll bring

  • 7+ years of hands-on Python experience
  • 7+ years of SQL and relational database experience, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or Ingres
  • 7+ years writing optimized SQL queries and analyzing existing queries for performance improvements
  • 7+ years designing and executing data-migration or data-conversion projects
  • 7+ years of experience with data governance, security, and compliance requirements
  • 5+ years of Power BI experience
  • 5+ years working with SOAP/REST APIs, backend architecture, and microservices
  • Experience developing or maintaining applications using the Zope application server
  • 5+ years of legacy-system migration experience
  • 5+ years of large-scale migration or modernization experience
  • 5+ years of Java development experience
  • 3+ years working with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • 3+ years of Power BI administration, including workspaces, gateways, and deployment strategies
  • 3+ years working with Git/Subversion and CI/CD pipelines
  • 3+ years of Perl scripting, system utilities, or legacy application maintenance
  • Experience developing or maintaining Plone CMS applications
