What you’ll impact
The Associate Backend Engineer designs, builds, tests, and deploys backend services enabling tokenized equities issuance, custody, and settlement on a blockchain platform. This role uses Go, Python, or Java in cloud‑native architectures, integrating smart contracts, chain indexers, and DEX trade flows to ensure correctness and auditability. Key deliverables include product‑facing features, the connective layer between brokerage systems and on‑chain components, and improvements to performance, reliability, and risk reduction. The engineer collaborates with product, compliance, client, and platform teams to deliver high‑impact solutions while upholding strict financial correctness.
Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Design, build, test, and deploy backend services that mint, custody, and settle tokenized equities on a proprietary blockchain platform, with correctness and auditability as hard requirements
- Develop product-facing features and platform enhancements that meet strict correctness and scalability standards
- Build the connective tissue between traditional market infrastructure (brokerage, ledgers, corporate actions) and on-chain systems, including smart contract integrations, chain indexers, and DEX trade flows
- Identify and implement improvements to system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction
- Collaborate closely with product, compliance, client, and platform teams to deliver impactful technical solutions
Requirements
What you’ll bring
- 2+ years of experience in software development
- Expertise in backend development using languages such as Go, Python, or Java, with a solid grasp of cloud-native architectures
- Strong grasp of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals
- Care for correctness-critical systems - idempotency, reconciliation, and reasoning carefully about failure modes when money is at stake
- Strong ownership mindset, with a track record of delivering high-quality projects end to end in cross-functional environments
- Interest in blockchain fundamentals - EVM, smart contracts, wallets, on-chain settlement - or a strong appetite to go deep quickly
