Summary
What you’ll impact
Backend Engineer - Tokenized Equity designs, builds, and deploys services that mint, custody, and settle tokenized equities on a blockchain. The team uses Go, Python, or Java in cloud‑native environments, integrating smart contracts and DEX flows to bridge brokerage systems with on‑chain assets. They deliver product features with strict correctness, implement idempotent reconciliation for transactions, and improve performance and risk controls. Collaboration with product, compliance, client, and platform teams ensures audit‑ready, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Design, build, test, and deploy the backend services that mint, custody, and settle tokenized equities on the blockchain platform, with correctness and auditability as hard requirements
- Develop product-facing features and platform enhancements that meet strict correctness and scalability standards
- Build the connective tissue between traditional market infrastructure (brokerage, ledgers, corporate actions) and on-chain systems, including smart contract integrations, chain indexers, and DEX trade flows
- Identify and implement improvements to system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction
- Collaborate closely with product, compliance, client, and platform teams to deliver impactful technical solutions
Requirements
What you’ll bring
- 2+ years of experience in software development
- Expertise in backend development using languages such as Go, Python, or Java, with a solid grasp of cloud-native architectures
- Strong grasp of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals
- Care for correctness-critical systems - idempotency, reconciliation, and reasoning carefully about failure modes when money is at stake
- Strong ownership mindset, with a track record of delivering high-quality projects end to end in cross-functional environments
- Interest in blockchain fundamentals - EVM, smart contracts, wallets, on-chain settlement - or a strong appetite to go deep quickly
- Role are based in either Menlo Park, Toronto or New York city offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week
